Nicole Kidman has spoken candidly about a Catholic faith rooted in her upbringing — she has credited a devout grandmother with instilling prayer as a regular part of her life from childhood, calling it something that had "a massive impact" on her. "I'm spiritual in that I absolutely believe in God," she has said, adding that she was drawn enough to religious life as a young woman to say, "I love the idea of being a nun. Obviously, I did not choose to go that path, but I was very drawn to it." She attends church regularly with her husband, musician Keith Urban, and their daughters, and has acknowledged good-naturedly that "a lot of my friends tease me" for how openly she holds to her faith in an industry where that's uncommon.
